Rapper LL Cool J (James Todd Smith) is sueing the clothing company FUBU for inadequate compensation. Smith claims that the owners failed to compensate him correctly for his role as the company's pitch man. Smith was first asked to help promote FUBU in 1993 by the owners who are from Hollis Queens the same area which LL is from. FUBU was started in 1992 by Hollis native Daymond John who is the current CEO of the company. The company was started in Johns mom's basement before he got a $100 000 morgage on the house to build the business. FUBU had sales of $350 million last year.
