Timothy Proctor was appointed general counsel of Diageo plc, the largest multinational beer, wine and spirits company in the world in January 2000. He has over 20 years' international legal experience, including 13 years with Merck.
He previously worked six years at Glaxo Wellcome, where he held various roles, including director of Worldwide Human Resources, and senior vice president of human resources, general counsel and secretary.
He was appointed a non-executive director of Wachovia Corporation on 1 November 2006.
Educated at University of Wisconsin, 1971 and University of Chicago, 1975.
