Jamarlin Martin is the founder and CEO of Nubai Ventures, a diversified digital media and e-commerce platform.
Mr. Jamarlin was previously the founder, chairman and CEO of Moguldom Media Group, the publisher of Bossip, MadameNoire, HipHopWired, 24Wired and StyleBlazer. Brands now owned by Urban One.
Mr. Martin is said to have launched Moguldom in 2005 after noticing an opportunity in the market for an African American publisher that could reach a new generation of consumers.
“Moguldom’s success stems from our innovative model of reaching our audience through the triple threat impact of online, mobile and social integration,” said Mr. Martin in a 2012 press release. “We know how to meaningfully engage our audience through authentic, relevant content across today’s multi-channel landscape.”
Moguldom, founded in 2005, has grown to an organization with more than 84 employees. It was ranked no. 11, on Inc. Magazine’s 2013 list of the top 100 fastest-growing media companies in America, and the 653rd spot in the general listing of Inc.’s 5000 fastest growing companies in America.
Mr. Martin told TechCrunch in 2012, the company has grown without raising venture capital and by doing so, he avoided being forced to grow the company at a certain pace, and he didn’t have to deal with the “friction” of VC oversight.
Prior to Moguldom Media Group, Mr. Martin founded and managed The Detached Trader, a currency trading and financial markets blog.
