Shonda Lynn Rhimes is a television producer and writer and the founder of Shondaland. Under the leadership of Ms. Rhimes and producing partner Betsy Beers, Shondaland is behind award-winning series "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," "How to Get Away with Murder," "For The People" and "Station 19."

Ms. Rhimes is the first Black American woman to create and executive produce a Top 10 American television network series.

In August 2017, Ms. Rhimes and her company inked a multi-year development deal with Netflix, under which all of her future productions will be Netflix Original series. The deal is reported to be worth more than $300 million. Netflix already had purchased U.S. streaming rights to past episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal.
