Marcus Mitchell is the Engineering Director, Google New York where he heads up Google's Checkout engineering efforts.

Marcus spends a lot of his time trying to get more Black kids interested in computer science. "In this field, being black is unusual," Mitchell told Fortune magazine. "Being an engineer is not something that is in the consciousness of many African-Americans."

Mitchell has a Ph.D., from the California Institute of Technology, Caltech.
