Damon Dash along with Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and Kareem "Biggs" Burke, formed Roc-A-Fella Records in 1996. Dash and Jay-Z shared the CEO position, with Damon executive producing all the projects and managing the group's assets.
In late 2004, Dash and his partners sold their interest in Roc-a-Fella Records to parent company Island Def Jam Records, for $10 million. Dash then started the Damon Dash Music Group, a joint venture with Def Jam Records.
Dash later sold his 25 per cent stake in the Rocawear clothing label in August 2005 ending his involvement in the Roc-a-fella empire. He stared in the BET version of The Apprentice called Ultimate Hustler which focused on street smart entrepreneurs. Damon is now focusing on his other business ventures which includes; The Damon Dash Music Group, Dash Films, Tiret New York, ROC Digital, Rachel Roy, Pro Keds, Armadale Vodka, America Magazine and Dash-Dibella Promotions.
