Dwight L. Bush is the President of Urban Trust Bank (UTB),a new model of community retail banking designed to be the preeminent provider of financial services to diverse, urban based consumers. As President, Mr. Bush is responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing policies, plans and programs for UTB, including growth of the bank’s deposit base and development of strategic lines of business such as the mortgage and student loan programs.
Mr. Bush has over 24 years of corporate finance, private equity, mergers and acquisition and strategic financial management expertise. His distinguished career includes roles as a financial transaction professional and a corporate officer. In addition, Mr. Bush has served as principal, advisor or arranger in over 75 corporate transactions in both Fortune 500 companies and private equity environments.
Before joining Urban Trust Bank, Mr. Bush founded D.L. Bush & Associates, LLC, to pursue investments in financial services companies, small business investment corporations and specialized tax credit programs. He was also a partner at Stuart Mill Capital, LLC where he was actively involved in all aspects of transaction execution, including origination and negotiations with sellers, private equity partners and bank lenders. Mr. Bush also developed the exit strategy and negotiated the sale of SatoTravel to Navigant International, Inc., the nation’s second largest integrated travel services company.
Mr. Bush worked for 15 years at The Chase Manhattan Bank in a number of roles, including acting as lead manager or agent in over 25 corporate financings. In 1990, Mr. Bush became Chase Manhattan Banks’ first African American Managing Director.
