Michelle Gadsden-Williams is Vice President and Global Head, Diversity and Inclusion at Novartis Pharmaceuticals AG, a position she has held since August 2006.

Gadsden-Williams is the first African American in Novartis’ history to serve in her capacity, where she currently provides strategic direction and leadership in developing an inclusive environment by integrating diversity practices into all aspects of the business. 

Gadsden-Williams joined Novartis in 2002 and previously served as the company’s Executive Director, Diversity and Inclusion.

Gadsden-Williams earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Kean College, and her Master of Science degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
