Christine Simmons

Christine Simmons is Vice President of Strategic Alliances for Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE). In this role she is responsible for identifying new areas of partnership and business opportunities for all MJE lines of business as a value added diverse supplier to the Fortune 500. Christine also collaborates in the development of strategies for co-branded activation of strategic alliances and new lines of business through our private equity fund.

Joining the company in March of 2009, Mrs. Simmons brings with her nearly 10 years of supplier diversity industry experience. Prior to joining the MJE team, Christine was a Manager of Supplier Diversity and Sustainability for The Walt Disney Company. In this role she was responsible for supporting the Media Networks, Marketing, Studio and New Media Technology teams in identifying qualified, competitive diverse suppliers for sourcing opportunities. Through these categories, Simmons influenced over $135M in diverse spend.  She was also responsible for the recruitment and outreach of African American owned businesses and green production sourcing initiatives.

Mrs. Simmons also served as the Director of Marketing & Programs for the Southern California Minority Business Development Council. There she forged the engagement of the entertainment industry by effectively coordinating, developing and implementing an initial “blue print” for strategic business matchmaking events. Mrs. Simmons also managed projects for United Technologies Corporation for the Global and Latin America Supplier Diversity Managers. She organized bidding conferences domestically and internationally, which resulted in significant increased spend with MWBEs.

Mrs. Simmons holds a seat on the board of the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce and the UCLA Black Alumni Association. She is a member of the National Association of Female Executives and a Founding Board member of Endeavor College Prep Charter School. Simmons was recently named one of the Top 25 Women of Power Impacting Diversity by DiversityPlus magazine and named to the Who’s Who in Black Los Angeles. Simmons received her Bachelor of Science degree from UCLA.
