Jay-Z is Hip Hops First Billionaire

Shawn Jay-Z Carter has been named the world’s first billionaire hip-hop artist by Forbes.com. This is a huge achievement for a kid from the projects.

The magazine has said the 49-year-old’s empire “conservatively” totals $1 billionn after valuing his various ventures. His fortune spans several industries, from real estate to investments in companies like Uber, to the liquor and art industries.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé, who've been married for over a decade, now have an aggregate fortune of $1.4 billion.

Beyoncé claimed the No. 51 spot on the Forbes list of America's Wealthiest Self-Made Women with a net worth of $400 million.

Jay-Z’s story has humble beginnings and should serve as inspiration for black kids from any background.
