Michael Lee-Chin, chairman of Portland Holdings Inc., is Canada's 34th richest person and the only black person on the Canadian Business magazine's 100 Richest Canadians list. Mr. Lee-Chin's net worth was estimated at CAD $1.84 billion (~ USD $1.85 billion as of Nov. 15, 2012). His net worth was up 6.1% from a year ago, partly thanks to the $97 million sale of his stake in Manulife Financial Corp.
