CAMAC International Corporation and its affiliated group of companies ("CAMAC International") collectively represent the largest African-American owned energy services enterprise in the United States.
CAMAC International affiliates are engaged in both upstream and downstream activities that include oil and gas exploration and production, the physical trading of crude oil and refined products for markets in Africa and Europe, and in the transportation industry in South Africa.
CAMAC International affiliates own or lease oil and gas reserves offshore in West Africa and onshore in Colombia, South America. CAMAC International was one of the first independent energy enterprises to recognize the potential of West Africa's existing untapped offshore resources; the first independent oil and gas producer to hold a Nigerian deepwater license, beginning in 1992; and the first to make a deepwater discovery in offshore West Africa in 1995.
